Let the Planning Really Begin!

Finally May has come, and I can turn my energy to really getting ready for my three month Sabbatical. The funding is
in place, thanks to the generous grant of paid leave from Shepherd of the Hills and the generous grant of dollars from the Louisville Institute. The sabbatical officially begins October 1.
The plan is to spend the first three weeks in Israel with Barb Watters. Barb has been doing a good bit of the planning We know we will leave at the end of Yom Kippur with the aim to be in Jerusalem for Sim Ha Torah. That means a departur date as early as September 28. I plan to take a week of vacation at the end of September to get ready for the trip.
On return to Wyoming, Dan and I are going to spend some time together at home and also exploring Wyoming. We have had many suggestions about places to visit. The main point of this time, however, is for us to spend some time together.
Sometime toward the middle to end of November, we are planning to head out with the dogs and travel to Kentucky and then on to South Carolina. We are hoping, right now--because we are still in the planning stages--to spend Thanksgiving in South Carolina with my extended family and my sisters and some or all of their families. Then we can make our way back to Wyoming for the final weeks of the sabbatical which ends December 31. At first, I was thinking Christmas but that would only give us a week to get back and for me to get ready to re-enter.
All of these plans are a work in progress. Stay tuned for updates.
